Foggy York
This is an old picture which I took earlier this year. York was in heavy fog this morning, but the view today was different because the River Ouse was flooding.
It's a strange feeling when I came back from Taiwan this time. Thinking about my newborn baby, I realise that I have to finish all the things in the UK asap and head back to Taiwan. I enjoy the feeling of being a father even though I don't know what does the baby cry for sometimes. But when I see her sleeping smile, I feel satisfied and encourage myself to speed up. Besides, I can't help thinking about the meaning of "home" to me.
"Home", to me, means a place that makes you feel cosy and comforts you when you are down. I believe that this definition may be similar to most of people. In addition, more importantly, I think "home" is a place that I possess. That is, even though I may perceive owning a room which is allocated to me by my father, for example, it is still less cosy than a place I rent, or I buy, and accommodate my family. This may to some extent explain why I feel better when I get back to my flat in the UK. Of course, it is perfect if my wife and my daughter can come with me. Therefore, I realise that it doesn't mean that I prefer the UK than Taiwan, but a house or flat that belongs to me, or say my family, that accommodates all of my family members, including my wife and daughter, with joy. This is the dream I'm going to build up.
Hope to see my wife and daughter soon!
