Yorkshire Wheel, York, North Yorkshire, England, UK.
The big wheel was established beside the National Railway Museum (NRM). According to build a scene as the London Eye by the River Thames, the company decided to move this Wheel to North Street. In the future, the Wheel will stand by the River Ouse.
Some Conventionalists opposed this idea and claimed that, firstly, the River Ouse is as big as the River Thames. Secondly, its sponsor, the Norwich Union, may not want the Wheel so close to York's headquarter which is by the riverside. Thirdly, it may damage the original scene of the riverside. Fourthly, it is still unknown whether the land could afford its weight.
After all, the company stopped Wheel's business last Saturday and disassembled it part by part from Monday to Thursday. On Friday morning, I can't see anything from my window where I can usually see the top of it (sigh......).
Anyways, I'm looking forward to see its new site and view. Hopefully the Yorkshire Wheel could replicate the view in London.
